Super Bowl Recipe

Feed a hungry game day crowd with this easy recipe for slow-cooker pulled pork.

Super Bowl Sunday is almost here!  If you are a hosting a bash in honor of the biggest day in football, then make sure you serve up food that will please the whole crowd.  Try this recipe for slow-cooker pulled pork and all your guests will be cleaning their plates in record time!

Slow-Cooker Pulled Pork

Ingredients:

  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • 3 tbsp. tomato paste
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. mustard powder
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 3-4-lb pork shoulder, trimmed of excess fat
  • coleslaw, for serving
  • barbecue sauce, for serving
  • buns, for serving

Directions:

  1. Combine onion, ketchup, tomato paste, apple cider vinegar and spices in the bowl of a slow cooker. Stir until evenly combined.  Season with salt and pepper.  Add the pork shoulder and toss to coat the meat in the sauce.
  2. Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 5-6 hours, until tender.
  3. Remove pork from slow cooker and transfer to bowl. Shred pork with two forks and toss pork with juices from the slow cooker. Serve on buns with coleslaw.
