BBQ Chicken Slider Recipe

Memorial Day is just around the corner, which means it is the perfect time to start creating the perfect menu for your backyard get together. Keep this tasty BBQ chicken slider crockpot recipe in mind that you can enjoy without having to spend all your time in the kitchen.

For the brine, you will need:

  • 1 ½ quarts water
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 minced garlic gloves

For the chicken you will need:

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chick breast halves
  • 1 ½ cups hickory smoke flavored barbeque sauce
  • 1/3 cup liquid smoke
  • 16 slider buns

Directions:

  1. Mix all of the brine ingredients together in a large bowl, stirring until the brown sugar is completely dissolved. Reserve 1 cup of the brine for cooking the chicken, and cover and refrigerate the rest.
  2. Put the chicken in a resalable bag, and add the chilled brine. Seal the bag, and press out as much air as possible. Mix the chicken and the brine around in the bag. Put in a large bowl, and refrigerator for 18 to 24 hours, turning occasionally.
  3. Take the chicken out of the brine, and move to your slow cooker. Throw away the brine bag. Add the extra 1 cup of brine, and 1/3 liquid smoke. Cook, with the lid on, on low for 4 to 5 hours, or until the chicken is tender.
  4. Remove the chicken, and discard the cooking juices. Shred the chicken with two forks, stir in the barbeque sauce, serve on buns, and enjoy!
